Back up – once it’s gone it’s gone.  Try Carbonite, it's simply the best offsite back up ever.  It's simple and inexpensive.

Use anti virus software

Use spyware software and run it monthly

Understand 2nd life, Facebook and Myspace your kids are using it

Understand instant messaging, your kids are into it

Use parental controls on all your computers

Get a digital camera, they are cheap and take great photos

Take lots of photos – life is too short not to record it


Use Google Maps for all your mapping needs

Get a Gmail or Yahoo Mail email account

Use Google Reader for all your RSS feeds

Use Picasa for your photo management

Turn your computer off at night.  It saves power

Get a UPS (uninterrupted power supply)

Use Walgreens, CVS, Target and Costco via the internet for your photos

When you have a question Google it you will most likely find the answer

Learn how to edit your home movies.  It makes them so much more fun later on.

Turn off your computer during storms

Consider VoiP service instead of your current land line

Teach your college kids that what happens in college WILL end up on the net.

Consider identity theft insurance.  It's a brave new world

Use AOL or any of its products.

Get rid of your AOL e-mail people will think you our out of the loop

Ever give anyone your account information via e-mail , NEVER EVER

Never use you company computer for personal use.  You are being watched

Never put anything on the net you don’t want the world to see.

Don't use McAfee or Norton tools.  They cause more problems then they fix.

Let you kids spend more than 2 hours on the computer at a time. That count for you as well.

Print photos on your home ink jet printer.  It costs too much and no matter what they tell you they are not real photos.  It’s cheap to send them to Walgreens.

Bang, knock or hit your computer.  Do it and it will die a quick death.
