QR codes come to Nashville TN via Google Favorite Places

 

Recently two of my clients here at Pineapple PC were recognized by Google with the honor of being chosen for the pilot of Google Favorite Places.  Out of over 28 million businesses listed with Google Business Listings, Google identified 100,000 businesses based on their popularity and how often people found them on Google Maps.  Quite a big honor if you ask me. 

The winners were Clothing Xchange located in Hillsboro village  and Salon Capelli located in Cool Springs.  Congratulations to both of you.

So what did they win?

For starters this decal for their window.  This decal identifies them as a Google Favorite Place.  Also if you look at the lower right corner you’ll see a funky box with lots of dots.  This is a 2d bar code called a QR code and this is the now in mobile computing.  With your smart phone you can scan this code and go right to their business listing on Google Maps.

If you have an IPhone, Droid, Blackberry, or Windows mobile phone you can download a free app and scan these codes.  Lots of info can be stored in these codes.
