Does Social Blogging work? . . . You Bet it does!!

 

The question I get from a lot of people I speak to about social networking and their business is “Does this stuff really work?”  The answer is simply yes.  Here are a few simple things to consider.  People go to the web today for information.  The numbers are staggering, and they get bigger everyday.  All of the traditional forms of one way communication with your customer both potential and current are changing.  Most are on there way out.  Today it’s about building networks of loyal followers.  People that look to you for solutions to their problems.  

I don’t want to lecture on this forever.  I want to show you just one example that happened to me when I made a simple blog post. 

 

Recently I decided to sponsor a local community swim team.  The Cottonwood Pirates.  I thought it would be a good idea to capitalized on this so I posted a press release to that effect.  Check out the results of a Google search for cottonwood pirates.

Yep.  Pineapple PC made it to #2 in the search.  Total cost for this $0.00  I can’t say it enough.  Google loves the blog they see it as more organic then other paid content.

Starting a blog is simple, maximizing the effect take a bit of work.  Content is king.

Hulu on your Windows Mobile Phone?

 

Ok your brain is mush if you even looked beyond the header of this post.  But if you’re like many people and have been disappointed with the internet browser on your Windows Mobile 6 enabled cell phone then check this out. 

Enter Skyfire. . .  A client of mine turned me on to it and it’s the real deal.  Just download the .cab file and install it to your phone.  Your now off and running with the best browser for your WM6 phone. 

Why won’t Hulu work with my current browser?  Simple, your browser is not set up to handle the latest Flash graphics.  That’s where Skyfire steps in.  Not only will it work with Hulu, it will work with any flash driven graphics.

It never ceases to amaze me how people come up with great ideas on the net. It seems to me that the small guy is always the winner here. Well, here is another such service. MagCloud allows you to publish your own magazine for $.20 per page plus shipping. As little as 4 pages and up to 60. Now you budding publishers are free to be as creative as you want. Make only what you can sell and look huge doing it.

Other application might include; Business profiles, Infotainment magazine, straight up magazine, lower cost brochure, Annual. The sky is the limit.
